Motton top in darts club championship

Cobar Darts Association held its Club Championships last week with Steve Motton taking out the Men’s A Grade title over Tony Brown.

Kylie Tiffen was the Ladies Singles winner with Tanya Beatty finishing as runner-up.

In the Men’s B Grade Singles Brett Miller beat out runner-up Andrew Buckman for the title.

In the doubles competition Tony Brown and Steve Motten teamed up to take the Men’s A Grade title with the duo of George Greer and Chris Hooker finishing as runners-up.

In the Men’s B Grade Doubles Kyle Roberts and John Jones were ahead of runners-up Les Hooker and Allan Flood; while Latisha and Mescal Nicholls were the Ladies doubles winners with Linda Fridd and Tyarna Crotty the runners-up.

The duo of Kylie Tiffen and Graeme Fridd took out the Mixed Doubles title from runners-up Linda Fridd and Paul Cohen.

In the regular weekly games last week the Golfie teams were top of the scoresheets with Golfie Gophers taking a decisive 6-0 win over Empire Strikes Back and Golfie Spearchuckers winning a close game 6-5 over RSL Thumpers.

The highest scorers of the games were Daniel Duell (160) and Steve Motton (140), while other high scores last week were recorded by: Jim Nicholls 100 120, Daniel Duell 100, Rena Clements 100, Craig Youd 100 100, Tony Brown 100 121, Bian Smith 123, Carl Bereyne 100, Steve Motton 122, Kyle Roberts 100 100 100, Garry Josephson 100 and Shane Haddy 100 100 100.
