Missed opportunities for Golf Club

Golf Club failed to make the most of the opportunities presented to them in their 40 Over Senior Cricket match against Nymagee on Saturday and Nymagee finished with an eight wickets win.

Golf Club won the toss and elected to bat first and, uncharacteristically, Nymagee dropped several early chance catches letting the Golf Club openers of the hook.

Craig Youd was the first of the Golf Club batters to go for 19 runs.

After belting 71 runs the night before in his Twenty/20 game, Jacob Good was bowled out in Saturday’s game for a golden duck.

Archie McMaster was next to fall when he went for a well compiled 28 runs.

At the drinks break, Golf Club was however in a reasonable position at 3/61.

However, after the break, the Golf Club batting order collapsed.

They lost their next seven wickets for just four runs to be bowled out for 65.

Mitchell Holt was the destroyer for Nymagee taking 4/12 in his bowling spell while Tony Polack finished with figures of 3/6.

In reply, Nymagee reached the required runs in the 15th over with the loss of only two wickets. Roger Mitchell top scored for Nymagee with 28 runs while James McClure finished with 24 not out.—contributed
