Minis match finishes in a thrilling 1-all draw

The Minis Raging Rhinos and Cornish Dragons game ended in a 1-all draw on Saturday.

The Minis match up between Cornish Dragons and Raging Rhinos in the Cobar Junior Soccer competition on Saturday finished in a thrilling 1-all draw.

Jessie Roulston booted a goal for Cornish Dragons and Noah Seymour netted the Raging Rhinos’ single goal.

Another Minis game between Sky Strikers and Pitch Pirates ended in a 3-nil win for Sky Strikers.

Two of Sky Strikers’ goals came from Archer Fugar’s boot while Nixon Shields was responsible for their other goal.

In the other Mini’s game, Orange Rovers defeated Purple Wanderers 5–3.

Levi Prince scored twice for his Orange Rovers team while team mates Clayton Matlam, Cooper Colling and Heidi Betcke booted one each. In reply, Oliver Tranter was responsible for all three of Purple Wanderers’ goals.

The Mini’s Milkshake Awards were won by Ashton Ebsworth, Mason Hill, Henry Murray, Zara Shepherd, Basil Peters and Jack Lowe.

The Cobar Hotbake Donut Awards went to Claire Thompson, Noah Seymour, Levi Prince, Rigby Peters, Willow MacKenzie and Nixon Shields.

In the Seniors division, Rock Apes finished with a 11-7 win over Mill Rats in their high scoring match.

Caleb Theakston was Rock Apes’ top goal scorer, finding the back of the net four times, along with Johnny McKay who booted in three goals. Ben Bray and Mark Hibbert also added two each to their big tally of 11 goals.

Mill Rats’ goals were netted by Joseph Theakston (2), Jade Buckman (2), Parker Cryer, Jacob Theakston and Rebecca Hibbert.

The Seniors Gumnuts Milkshake Awards went to Jacob Theakston and Mark Hibbert while Parker Cryer and Johnny McKay took home the Cobar Hotbake Donut Awards.

The Mids match between The Sharks and Maroon Rangers finished in a 5-all draw.

Four of The Sharks points came from the boot of Judd Josephson and Cooper Suridge netted their other goal.

For Maroon Rangers, Alfie Toomey found the back of the net three times and Logan MacKenzie was responsible for their two other goals.

The Mids game between Polar Bears and Black Knights also ended in a draw, and it was a tight one at 2-all.

Tom Preisig kicked both goals for his Black Knights team while Henry Geppert and Josh McMillan were responsible for Polar Bears’ goals.

The other Mids’ match up was a close one with Bengal Tigers eventually winning the game 5-4 over Redbacks.

Jack Geppert scored three times for the Bengal Tigers and team mate Mark McBride scored twice.

Edwin Palma and Jospeh Theakston, with two goals each, were responsible for Redbacks’ four points…see this week’s edition for full report.
