A determination still has not been reached on an application to extend the Cobar Mining Camp to cater for an additional 80 people.
The item was listed for discussion on last Thursday’s Cobar Shire Council Ordinary Meeting agenda however when four councillors declared pecuniary interests in the matter (as each owned rental properties), that only left five other councillors to vote on the matter.
With six being the legislated minimum number for a council meeting quorum, the remaining councillors were unable to vote and so the matter was referred to Council’s general manager, Peter Vlatko for final determination.
Mr Vlatko told The Cobar Weekly he would be giving the matter careful consideration before a decision is made.
