It was a big weekend in golf with the Cobar
Men’s Golf Club Championships held
in conjunction with the BRilliams Copper
City Classic.
The combined event was played over 54
holes on Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s A Grade Champion was Cobar
Men’s Golf Captain Alec Fraser, who finished
with a gross score of 228.
The A Grade runner-up, was past champion,
Jay Egan, who came home with a score of
233.
The B Grade champion was the consistent
Bill Fugar on 231 points with Brian Russ, on
237, finishing in second place.
In C Grade, two players, Paul Kershaw and
Ron Craw, tied and a playoff for the title will
played ASAP.
The winner of the BRilliams Copper City
Classic event was Bill Fugar with a nett score
of 207.
In second place in the 54 hole Nett competition
was Scott Mayne on 210.
Will Lawton picked up third place with a
score of 218 nett.
In golf this weekend, a Stableford will be
played for Bannister Day on Saturday and an
Individual Par will be contested on Sunday.
The Nyngan Open is also on Sunday.—4
