Long service recognised

NSW Rural Fire Service Medals were presented following the Kerrigundi Bush Fire
Brigade annual general meeting on Friday. Pictured is NSW Rural Fire Service Far
West Team District Manager Brad Lennon (second from left at rear) with some of the
recipients: Richard Mitchell (30 years service), Ken Cain (20 years), Geoffrey
Sommerville (10 years), Bryan Manns (30 years) and seated at front Tom Mitchell
(50 years) and Shirley Harbison (50 years). Other medals were also awarded for 50
years service to Keith Harbison (posthumously); 40 years—James Cain, 30 years—
Kerry Cain, 20 years—Allen Chapman and 20 years to June Chapman.
Volunteering for the NSW Rural Fire Service not only involves being on the fire line,
but also the various support roles behind the scenes. Mr Lennon said the extensive
knowledge these members have of the area is a great asset. Photo contributed
