The Cobar Lodge No 97 has donated $1,000 towards erecting a World War II commemorative wall mural at the club.
Mr Punzet said the funds came from fundraising activities conducted by lodge members within the Services Club and the community.
He said the Cobar Lodge No 97 members had been impressed by the World War I commemorative wall mural, and were eager to help with the next stage, which will focus on World War II.
Mr Punzet said Cobar Lodge recognised that these commemorative murals were not erected to glorify war but to honour the local people who were involved in or affected by these conflicts.
He said the brethren of the Cobar Lodge No 97 were pleased to have been able to help fundraising on this and many other occasions over the years in Cobar.
“Over the last several years Cobar Masons have helped raise and donate over $41,000 to the local community which includes the Cobar Mobile Children Services, Ngalii Preschool, Cobar Cadets, Cobar Scouts and the Copper City Men’s Shed,” he said.
