Cobar is lit up with cheerful Christmas displays and our discerning judges are almost ready to cast their eyes over this year’s entries in The Cobar Weekly’s Christmas lights competition.
Competition coordinator Tahnee Tomek said the quality of displays gets better each year.
“These days it’s not just about the lights—there’s inflatables, moving elements, movies, and music and the entrants are really using their imagination when it comes to bringing it all together at their homes,” Mrs Tomek said.
She said the judges from Cobar Girl Guides, the Lilliane Brady Village and The Cobar Weekly staff are again faced with a tough task.
“The Christmas lights competition brings a lot of joy to both young and old, and the more entries we have, the better it is,” Mrs Tomek said.
She said judging is set to commence this Friday and The Cobar Weekly will publish a list of all entrants on its Facebook page so everyone can join in the fun.
“Driving around to look at all the lights is a great family activity to really help get in the Christmas spirit,” Mrs Tomek said.
It is free to enter the competition and entries close this Thursday.
The entry form can be found on Page 20 of this edition.
