The Cobar Bowling & Golf Club was represented by Narelle Kriz and Jannine Wilkin in Dubbo on Sunday, with the pair competing in the KENO Two Person Ambrose Regional Final.

Being the only Sandgreen players in attendance, the Cobar ladies held their own only going down by six shots from the winners Virginia Conran and Alison Duffield from the Duntryleague Club in Orange who finished with a Nett score of 69.

Kriz and Wilkin placed 5th on a countback with 75 behind the Dubbo team on 75, Grenfell (74.75) and Randwick (72.75).

Competitors also came from and Wellington.

Back on the home course wild winds caused a bit of chaos in last Wednesday’s Ladies Golf Stableford round with many having to dodge fallen branches as well as being sandblasted by dirt on the course.

Julie Livingston handled the conditions well to score 37 points for the win and she also had the Nearest the Pin shot on the 8th hole.

In second place was Geraldine Francisco on 34 points.

It took a three-way countback to decide the placings in Saturday’s stroke game when 70 nett was the score of the day.

Susan Goonrey ended up with first prize followed by Narelle Green and Ann Dunn.

The best with the short stick was Narelle Green who had 23 putts on the day.

Janet Place continues to impress in her comeback year and was once again declared a winner when finishing Sunday’s Par event with +2.

Next best were Michelle Rorke and Ann Dunn, who had +1 each while Geraldine Francisco had a score of -1.

Closest to the flag on the 11th hole were Geraldine Francisco, Karen Manns and Michelle Rorke.

Stableford games are set down for all competition rounds this week.

Many Cobar lady golfers will be spending this coming weekend in Nyngan to take part in the 2025 Vendi Golf Women’s Sandgreen Championships.
