LBV welcomes donation from Peak

LBV residents Maureen Griffiths and Mick Kershaw with Cobar Shire Council’s director of finance and community services, Kym Miller (at centre) at a morning tea last week which acknowledged the mine’s donation.

A generous donation from the Peak Gold Mine will make life easier for residents and staff at the Lilliane Brady Village (LBV).
The LBV has recently received a donation of $3,000 from the mine’s donation program to purchase two small battery operated generators for use in the event of a power outage.
LBV’s Director of Nursing Helen Spyt said the purchase of generators had been on their “wish list’ for some time.
“The residents have electronic beds and hoists and if there is disruption to power, we cannot reposition the residents. Having the use of the generators will ensure the comfort of the resident is not compromised and the safety of staff remains intact,” Ms Spyt said.
