Last minute team comes up trumps

A last minute shout out to secure a partner came up trumps for the winners in the annual Di McLeod Memorial Golf Day on Saturday.

Wen Zhang’s plea was answered by Travis Buckman and they combined well to score 48 points in the Four-Ball-Best-Ball game, and finish nine points clear of the second place team of Stewart and Serena Fraser on 39 points.

Another last minute phone call had Tony Polack join Fay Hardwick to finish in third position on 37 points after a countback from Alec Fraser and Geraldine Francisco.

Haymish McLeod teamed up with Susan Goonrey to take 5th spot with 36 points.

Fay Hardwick picked up three Nearest the Pin prizes while Serena Fraser won the other two for the ladies.

Garry Wilkin was the only one to stay on any of the greens for the men and won the Nearest the Pin prize on the 8th hole.
