Junior Roosters score two good wins on the road

The Cobar Junior Roosters were on the road on Saturday to play their Round 7 Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League games in Dubbo and Nyngan.

The Under 10s and Under 14s teams returned home as winners over their St John’s Dubbo opposition.

The Under 10s won their nail biting match 24-20 with Nate Martin scoring three tries and Zaiden Saunders and Hayden Seng also crossed for a try each.

Jaxon Burke and Jay Lamond converted a goal each.

Zaiden Saunders and Sam Dunne shared the Coach’s Award.

The Cobar Under 14s had a convincing 40-24 win over their South Dubbo opposition.

Reynold Mugugia led the scoring for Cobar with four tries for the match.

Ryley Morley crossed for a double and Elias Aumua and Tommy Rogers also touched down for Roosters tries.

Ryan Urquhart added an extra eight points to Cobar’s tally with four successful conversions.

Tighe McMullen and Ryley Morley collected the Coach’s Awards.

The Cobar Under 11s were beaten 24-6 by St John’s with Reece Josephson their try scorer and Jed Budd added the extras with the boot.

Jair Apaza and Jaxon Burke (playing up from the Under 10s) shared the Coach’s Awards.

The Cobar Under 12s were soundly beaten by their St John’s opposition 50-8.

Clancy Harvey and Kai Taylor recorded Cobar’s points with Ebony Aumua and Nick Reschke collecting the Coach’s Awards.

The Roosters Under 16s went down 50-10 to the Nyngan Tigers.

Khan McMurray was Cobar’s point scorer.

In Sunday’s Minis and Under 9s competition at Tom Knight Memorial Oval, Ethan Jackson and Nicholas Lynch were stand-outs in the Minis game while Tristan Jackson and Corey Piggott were the Coach’s picks in the Under 9s game.

The club will have home games this Saturday.
