Impressive wins for Roosters Under 10s and Under 11s

The Cobar club hosted South Dubbo and Wellington teams for Round 8 of the Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League competition on Saturday.

The Under 10s, 11s and 12s played their matches at Tom Knight Memorial Oval while the Under 14s and 16s games were played at the Camels’ Ailsa Fitzsimmons Memorial Oval due to senior league games also being played on Saturday.

The Cobar juniors finished the day with two good wins—the Under 10s made it three in a row and the Under 11s’ win on Saturday made it three wins for them from their last four encounters.

The Under 10s put on a good display up against the South Dubbo team finishing with a 22-16 win.

Jaxon Burke and Nate Martin both ran in two tries each and Sam Dunne also crossed for the Roosters.

Jack Rogers landed one conversion.

Jaxon and Sam shared the Coach’s Award.

The Under 11s were impressive in their 32-12 win over the Souths visitors.

Reece Josephson scored three tries with Jed Budd, Dustin Crotty and Lachlan Willard also touching down for the Roosters.

Jed, Dustin, Reece and Lachlan all landed a conversion each with Dustin and Jed collecting the Coach’s Awards.

The Under 12s put up a good fight up against South Dubbo going down 22-6.

Kai Taylor was the only try scorer with Damon Bruce making the conversion.

Reegan Traynor and Zavier Kershaw earned the Coach’s Awards.

The Under 14s went down 32-16 in their match with Souths.

Ryley Morley scored two tries for Cobar and Hummer Rewati one.

Ryan Urquhart landed two conversions.

The Cobar Under 16s lost their match with Wellington 32-10. Khan McMurray ran in both of Cobar’s tries and Ben Griffiths kicked one conversion. Khan and Sam Shepherd earned the Coach’s Awards.

In Sunday’s Under 7s game Brock Eves and Ryan Jiang had great games while in the Under 9s Lachlan Lake and Will Lynch collected the Coach’s Awards.

There will be no Minis games played during the school holidays.
