The final of the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club women’s bowls Club Championships was played last Wednesday and was a close game which went down to the last end to determine a winner.
The team of Ev Hyde and Shine McIver played an excellent game to narrowly beat Glenda Peebles and Helen Boddy 19-18.
The Golfie’s No 6 Pennants team travelled to Cowra on the weekend and finished as runners-up to Gulgong.
The Cobar side defeated Eugowra 10-0 in their match; they won 9½ to ½ against Orange City and also beat Parkes 9-1.
Cobar went down 1-9 in their match to the ultimate winners, Gulgong.
The women bowlers played a social game on Tuesday with Margaret Good, Joy Josephson and Glenda Peebles finishing as the winners.
