Golfie bowls spectators were treated to some very fine bowling on Saturday and Sunday as two Club Championships were decided.
In the Doubles Championship game played on Sunday between Ian Prendergast/John Goonrey and Alec Fraser/Mark Fraser, right up to the 13th end it was clear that both teams were worthy opponents with barely a single shot between them!
The scorecard shows that it was the three shot win on the 13th end that tipped the scale in favour of Team Prendy/Goonrey and they went on to take out the 2024 Cobar Bowling & Golf Club Bowls Doubles Championship glory.
Allan Knight and Mark Fraser took to the greens to compete for Club Singles Championships 2024 glory on Saturday.
Knight started well then Fraser’s four shot end brought the margin difference to within two shots.
Experience shone through for Knight as from then on he built on his lead for the rest of play, despite young gun Fraser’s attempts to get back into the game.
Glory eventually went to Knight when he finished with a 26/13 victory and the title of 2024 Cobar Bowling & Golf Club Bowls Singles Champion…Full report in this week’s edition out now!
