Good competition for Round 2 of Motocross

There was some very good competition in the seniors classes at the Cobar Auto Club’s Round 2 Motocross event on Saturday night. Dubbo rider, Thomas Geale (at centre)
finished as the overall winner in the Senior Lites, Senior Opens and All Power classes. Geale is pictured on the winner’s podium for the Open’s presentations with runner-up Chris Condon (from Goolgowi) and local rider Greg Prisk who finished in third place.

A group of 55 riders and a good crowd of spectators enjoyed the perfect weather on Saturday at Cobar Auto Club’s Round 2 Motocross event.

Riders of all ages travelled from around the western area to provide some great competition.

Greg Prisk and Chris Condon (from Goolgowi) took the lead early in the senior events but were unable to hold off Dubbo rider Thomas Geale who had a clean sweep to finish with wins in the Senior Lites, Senior Opens and All Powers classes.

Condon claimed second spot in the Senior Opens and All Powers classes while Prisk finished second in the Senior Lites and third in the Senior Opens.

In third place in the Senior Lites class was Hillston rider Jochim Jager and Lachlan Manwarring (Condobolin) took third spot in the All Powers division.

Dion Fitzsimmons led in the Veterans class ahead of Trent Fullagar (2nd) and Hillston rider Ian Hulland was third.

In the Junior classes George McDonald finished out in front in the 50cc High Powers class ahead of Sonny Lister (Condobolin) and Tommy George.

In the 65cc 7 years to Under 9 age division, Geurie rider Hudson Miller took the chequered flag from Cohan Nicholson and Riley Smith (Euabalong) was back in third place.

In the 65cc 9-U12 class, Zach Snudden was first with Clay McDonald second and Nick Sweeney (Merrygoen) was third.

Zach also won the 85cc 9-U12 class ahead of Clay (2nd) and again Nick was third.

In the 85cc 12-U16 division, Hillston rider Jock Hulland finished out in front of Tadhg McMullen with Xavier Ferguson (Broken Hill) back in third place.

Connor Paivinen cleaned up in the Junior Lites class finishing ahead of the visitors, Patrick Hourigan (Condobolin) in second spot and Jock Hulland (Hillston) was third.

The Junior Ladies winner was Bella Fullagar with Jayde George coming out in front in the Senior Ladies class ahead of Caitlin Norris.
