The 61st Bannister Family Golf Day was played on Saturday with Scott Mayne finishing at the Men’s winner while Sally Bannister recorded her name on her family’s trophy this year as the Women’s winner.
Mayne blitzed the field with 49 points to take the trophy ahead of Stewart Fraser (40) and Max Phillips with 39 was third in the Men’s competition.
Suzie Hardwick was the Ladies’ runner-up after a countback with Sally Bannister (both finished with 40 points) and Narelle Kriz was third with 39 points.
Payne collected the Men’s Nearest the Pin prizes on the 3rd and 7th holes with the 8th hole prize won by Peter ‘China’ Brien, the 11th went to Bill Fugar and the 15th hole prize was claimed by Phillips.
The Ladies’ Nearest the Pin prizes were collected by Fay Hardwick, Kriz, Hardwick (2) and Karen Manns.
Jacob Ryan teamed up with Chrissy Gilligan on Sunday to be the 2019 Mixed Foursomes Championships winners with a Scratch score of 108 (and handicap score of 98¼ net).
Ryan, who claimed his fifth consecutive Men’s A Grade Club Championships title last week, also celebrated his fifth consecutive Mixed Foursomes Championships title.
In second place this year was the husband and wife team of Mick and Sally Bannister (who had 124 off the stick, and 101½ net) with Greg Clarke and Marlene Wynd back in third place (104½).
Marc Quinn and Barb Barklimore (106¼) teamed up to finish in 4th spot with Andrew Bartlett and Karen Manns rounding out the top five finishers with 106½.
Nearest the Pin prizes went to Brenda Fugar on the 8th hole and Gerard Livingston was the closest on the 15th.
This Saturday the Inter-mine Challenge will be played as a Three Person Ambrose event.
