Golfie’s greens were chocker block full

There was a whopping field of 29 bowlers for Sunday’s social bowls at the Golfie.

Every rink on the green was chocker block full!

Thanks to the massive amount of rain on Saturday, the green was very sluggish which tested everyone’s skill.

This week’s winners, Greg Read and Allan Gardoll, won the ham prizes after a countback.

They finished with a big +17 win along with runners-up, David Schofield and Narelle Kriz.

In the other matches, Craig ‘Duck’ Grimmond and David Kershaw had a +5 victory over Russell Brosi and Greg Clark while David ‘Ooze’ Knight, John Goonrey and Bel Starr won by +4 over Tony Polack, Barry Bargwanna and double lead, Bel Starr.

There was only one shot separating John ‘Shark’ Daly and Paul Kershaw in their match with Doug Hudson and Karen Daly.

The other two games ended in draws.

Allan Knight and Degen Brown tied with  Don Roberts and Randall Hall while Alec Fraser and Bridget Miller played a draw with Mark Fraser and David Thomas.

The George The Giraffe award started out looking like it might go to The Second but informers advised that once again club president Jim Goonrey was the worthiest recipient.
