Golfie puts $75,000 back into community

Cobar Bowling & Golf Club secretary/manager Jason Howell (at front far left) handed out over $75,000 worth of community grants to 18 different local organisations through the ClubGrants program on Monday afternoon. Among the recipients were Cobar Lady
Bowlers (who received $2,000 for tournament travel and accommodation costs), Rotary Club of Cobar ($4,500 cash and in kind
assistance for Tour De OROC catering), Cobar Iron Ringers committee ($1,000 towards monument build), Cobar Arts Council ($1,800 for barrier fencing at railway station), Cobar Junior Rugby League ($4,000 to offset registration fees), Copper City Men’s Shed ($4,000 for dust management system), Brennan Centre committee ($2,550 towards building fund), Cobar Little A’s ($2,000 for sporting equipment), Cobar Athletics & Triathlon Squad ($1,000 to purchase a large club bike) and the Cobar Clay Target Club ($1,500 for lighting).
