Golfie-goers are in the money

It was raining cash at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club on Saturday night with almost $60,000 in prizemoney given away to lucky punters. Mason Garland (pictured left with club secretary/manager Demi Smith) is one very lucky man after taking out the $27,000 Club Mega Draw. He had not long arrived at the club after work on Saturday night and was parking his car when his name was called out as the winner of the Draw. (Conditions of winning are that the member must be on the premises at the time of the draw). Each week one of the 10 participating clubs from around the western region is randomly selected as the Club Mega Draw location, and then the winner is selected from that club’s members. The club was packed with members hoping to try their chance at the Jerry the Joker draw, which was down to the last two cards. Wendy Byrne (at centre) was the lucky winner of the $30,500 prize after selecting the Joker card. She was congratulated on her win by friend Jody Schofield (left) and the club’s secretary/manager Demi Smith.
