Giving back to the locals

Six local groups have benefited from the latest round of funding from the Khan’s
SUPA IGA Community Chest program. Khan’s SUPA IGA Marshall Street store
manager, Matt Carey (pictured above at far right), handed out cheques totaling
$2,200 last week. Among the donations were: $300 each to the Copper City Men’s
Shed and Rotary Club of Cobar (accepted by dual representative Gordon Hill); $500
to Rural Outback Animal Rescue (represented by Jesse Tatnell and Sharon Snelson);
$500 to St John’s School (received by Year 6 leaders Sam Cain, Oscar Degn and
Rossita Kea with co-principal Stacy Tranter) and $300 for the CWA Cobar branch
(which was accepted by their president Colleen Boucher). Another $300 was also
donated to the Cobar Little A’s Club.
