The Cobar Junior Soccer competition wrapped up on Saturday morning with grand final games followed by their end of season presentations.
In the Mids division, United finished as the competition winners after a hard-fought 5-3 grand final win over Liverpool.
The Liverpool side played with determina-tion all game and gave it all they had but United were just too good on the day and went home with the win.
United’s goals were scored by Henry Geppert (2), Charlie Nicholson (2) and Jack Geppert (1).
Liverpool’s points came from Nixon Small (2) and Joshua Ho Wing (1).
In the other Mids game (which determined third and 4th placings) Rangers finished with a 5-2 win over Rovers.
Rangers’ goal scorers were Logan Fenna-more (3) and Jeremiah McMillan (1) along with an own goal.
Both of Rovers’ goals were netted by Jo-seph Theakston.
In the Seniors competition, the grand final game was like the other games throughout the season, a close one, with just one goal the final difference.
Isaac Theakston scored four goals for Spurs to help them to their 4-3 win over Rangers.
Rangers’ three goals came from the boot of Jade Buckman.
For the final games of the Minis division, the teams played a series of Round Robin games.
No scores were recorded as the games were all about having fun.
End of season presentations followed the Seniors game.
The Golden Boot Awards were presented to the highest goal scorers in each grade: Min-is—Logan MacKenzie (48 goals); Mids—Henry Geppert (24) and Seniors—Jacob Theakston and Jeremy Theakston, who tied with 18 goals each.
Best & Fairest, Team Spirit and Most Im-proved awards were handed out in each team.
The Minis Best & Fairest players were: Cameron Fennamore (Wanderers); Tom Geppert (Rangers); Ford Ellison (Rovers); Logan MacKenzie (United); Jack Preisig (Chelsea) and Ashton Hyland (Liverpool).
The Mids Best & Fairest award winners were: Tom Preisig (Liverpool); Mark McBride (Rovers); Charlie Nicholson (United) and Indie Burke (Rangers).
In the Seniors competition, Isaac Theakston earned the Spurs’ Best & Fairest award while Jacob Theakston was named Rangers’ Best & Fairest of the season.
Team Spirit awards went to: Minis—Ethan Jebb (Wanderers); Darcy Geppert (Rangers) Delilah McBride (Rovers); Sam Mckervey (United); Leo Neale (Chelsea) and Joe Ar-nold (Liverpool).
In the Mids competition, the Team Spirit award winners were: Joshua Ho Wing (Liverpool); Edwin Palma (Rovers); Henry Geppert (United) and Jeremiah McMillan (Rangers).
The Seniors Team Spirit awards were col-lected by Braiden Jones (Spurs) and Jayden Cryer (Rangers).
