The Fast Fobs were able to field a full side last Tuesday night in the Fast5 netball com-petition which helped them to roll the com-petition leaders.
George Manu helped his Fast Fobs side to rack up a big winning tally of 41-15 over the former front-runners, Why Did We Say Yes? (WDWSY), with Manu sinking a three-pointer in the late stages of the game, which is the 5th three point shot recorded for the season.
After leading 7-1 at the first break, Fast Fobs blew out their lead to 25-2 at half time after they made the most of their powerplay quarter scoring a massive 18 points.
WDWSY failed to capitalize in their power-play quarter (in the third quarter) only scoring six points to Fast Fobs’ seven, and they trailed 32-11 going into the final quarter.
Fast Fobs finished strongly to claim a con-vincing 26 point win.
The match’s Favourite Fivers (as selected by the opposition) were Jayden Paul (Fast Fobs) and William Wong (WDWSY).
Over on the other court, Watch & Learn were handing out a netball lesson to their op-position, CynSteel.
Watch & Learn got off to a great start and, by the end of the first quarter, they had a 9-2 lead over their slow-starting opposition.
CynSteel however found their shooting groove in the second quarter (with Neve Carter and Bree Martin in the circle) and they outpointed Watch & Learn 4-2 that quarter.
CynSteel however failed to carry that mo-mentum into their powerplay quarter (they only scored two points in the third quarter) but they did keep the Watch & Learn shooters at bay, with just three points added to their tally.
Watch & Learn streaked away in the final quarter and added 10 points in their powerplay quarter to finish with a 24-11 win over CynSteel.
Tia Turner (Watch & Learn) and Adam Hill (CynSteel) were named the game’s Favourite Fivers.
Watch & Learn’s win (coupled with WDWSY’s loss) will see Watch & Learn claim the top of the table position.
