The Cobar Arts Council had a fantastic response from local artists with 170 entries for this year’s Art, Craft and Photography competition and exhibition which included 13 new first time entrants.
The winners of each category were announced at the exhibition’s Official Opening on Thursday night at the Cobar Railway Station.
Gina Martin won first, second and third places in the Drawing section and also collected the Joan Singleton Overall Point Score Award along with Best First Time Entry Artist.
Sue Singleton won the Category A Painting Section and claimed the Thellie Wade Perpetual Trophy.
Thellie Wade was awarded first place in the Category B Painting section; Emily Miller earned first place in Pottery; Rebecca Howard was the winner in Sculpture; Cindy Williams was awarded first place for her Indigenous Art and the Peoples Choice winner was Iryna Barrett with her ‘Poppies in a Vase’…Full story in this week’s edition of The Cobar Weekly out now!
