First signs of work begin on Cobar’s new health service

Preparations have been made in readiness for building work to commence on Cobar’s new hospital with the construction site fence erected last week.

Site preparation work has commenced on Cobar’s new multipurpose health service with Hutchinson Builders setting up temporary construction site fencing last Wednesday.

Hutchinson Builders (or Hutchies as they are well known), have delivered over 200 health projects, and are also working on redevelopment projects at Broken Hill, Bowral and Cairns hospitals.

Kylie Neville, the Communications Lead for MPS Projects for Health Infrastructure said as part of the redevelopment project, an Aboriginal courtyard will be developed at the new Cobar Health Service.

“The courtyard intends to provide a culturally significant area for the community and Aboriginal people,” Ms Neville said.

“To develop the design for the courtyard a local working group has been established and is providing feedback to the landscape architect engaged on the overall project.

“We look forward to sharing the courtyard design with the community when it is completed.

“The courtyard will then be created in line with the construction timeline for the overall redevelopment project,” she said.
