The Cobar Roosters Under 12’s team played their last game of the season in the Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League Competition on Saturday at Tom Knight Memorial Oval.
(The team has a bye in the final round of the competition this week and didn’t make semis.)
It was the last junior league game for four of the Roosters Under 12’s female players, Rhylee Jeffery, Ella Oborn, Holly Watt and Audrey Josephson. (Due to NRL rules, females are no longer able to play mixed tackle football past Under 12’s.)
The girls however didn’t get the fitting send off they deserved with the Roosters Under 12’s going down 26-4 to visitors St Johns Blue.
George McDonald was responsible for Cobar’s only try.
Rhylee, Ella, Holly and Audrey shared the Players’ Player and Coaches Awards.
