The Cobar Miners Race Club executive committee remains unchanged from last year following the club’s annual general meeting on Sunday.
Returning president Jarrod Marsden said he was pleased to welcome back the executive as well as the wonderful group of stalwart committee members.
“We have a couple of new committee members in Andrew Buckman and Nathan Kenny who add much needed knowledge and enthusiasm for racing,” Marsden said.
Marsden praised everyone for their efforts over the past year and said his first year as president had very much been “a steep learning curve”.
In the general meeting that followed, Marsden said a number of topics were discussed including: the club holding an Extreme PBR bull riding spectacular in March as a joint venture with the Cobar Pony Club; doing off season fundraising to help ease the cost of their high water bill; the conversion of the club’s second race meeting from a picnic to a non-TAB meeting with discussions with Racing NSW to continue; and applying for a grant to extend the outside running rail as requested by the stewards.
