Local athlete Ethan McLeod collected a bunch of medals and set a new world record at the at the World Powerlifting Committee National Championships in Brazil last week. Ethan had three days straight of competition. On Day 1 he grabbed third place in the teens Squat with a 150kg lift, Bench lifted (87.5kg) and Deadlifted (165kg) and placed first in the Under 75kg body weight division. Day 2 of the competition was Individual Lifts and Ethan was first in Bench Press, first in Squat Lift and second in Deadlift. On the final day of the competition, Ethan won the Strict Bicep Curl and set a new world record! ▪ Photo contributed
