Eight shooters contest clay target monthly shoot

A group of eight shooters contested a four event program at the Cobar Clay Target Club’s monthly shoot on Sunday.

The weather was fantastic for shooting and it didn’t take long for the competition to heat up.

In the opening event, a 25 Target Double Barrel, Matt Harland finished as the winner of A Grade with a near perfect score of 24/25 with Brad Kendrick just behind on 23/25.

Aiden Barraclough recorded a possible (perfect score) to win B Grade ahead of Kirk Grogan and Luke Scales, who both shot 24/25.

Julianne Foster shot 24/25 to win C Grade with Will Griffiths the runner-up with 19/25.

Harland and Kendrick tied for first place in the 30 Target Medley in A Grade after both recorded 44/50.

Barraclough was again out in front in B Grade winning with a score of 43/50 ahead of Grogan and Scales, who again tied for second place with identical scores of 42/50.

Griffiths, with a high score of 46/50, got the better of Foster (34/50) to claim the win in C Grade.

Griffiths and Foster couldn’t be separated in the 25 Target Continental Double Barrel event with both recording 20/25.

Grogan’s possible of 25/25 won him first place in B Grade and Scales with 24/25, had to settle for second spot.

Harland and Kendrick, each with 24/25, tied for first place in A Grade with a tie also recorded for second place with Aiden Barraclough and Tony Polack both finishing with 23/25.

Kendrick won the 25 Target Continental Single Barrel with 23/25.

Grogan also had 23/25 to win B Grade and Scales finished second with 22/25.

In C Grade, Griffiths claimed the win with 20/25 over Foster on 12/25.

A shoot-off event was also held to find the Overall shooter for the day, between Grogan and Kendrick. Grogan
