Jay Egan fought off Derek Beehan and Angus Waugh to win the men’s golf Monthly Medal competition on Saturday.
Egan won the Ambrose event with Beehan second and Waugh finished back in third place. Larry Brydon recorded the only Nearest the Pin prize of the day on the 11th hole.
A group of Cobar golfers contested a two person Ambrose game in Louth on Saturday and, from all reports, it was a good day out.
A Stroke game was played for the BOC sponsored day on Sunday.
Chris Gilbert finished as the winner with Glen Ratcliff second, Will Brown was third and Jay Egan rounded out the top placings in fourth position. Brown recorded a Nearest the Pin shot on the 3rd hole.
With a damp course and miserable cold day, there were no starters for last Wednesday’s game.
A Stableford is set down for today.
The Inter Mine Golf Challenge will be contested on Saturday.
Sunday’s game is a Stroke event with a bit of a difference. The men will play off Ladies’ tees using the Ladies Index.
The Darling River Bourke Open that was to have been contested on Sunday has been cancelled.
