The Cobar Cowboys hosted Narromine in the Brewery Shield cricket competition on Sunday with the Cowboys claiming a close seven runs win.
Cobar won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Cowboys made a positive start to be 2/126 by the 28th over thanks largely to a half century by Mitchell Holt (51) and a contribution of 30 from Ahmed Pullock.
A middle order batting collapse then occurred when Cobar lost five wickets for 24 runs which slowed their momentum. Some late big hitting from Slade Neale (26) however got Cobar to a defendable total of 192.
In reply, Narromine were bowled out in the 47th over for 185, seven runs short of the required total.
The slower bowling of Pullock and Jay Egan proved vital with both bowlers taking three wickets each from their 10 overs.
Tristan Everett took the final wicket which was caught by James McClure.
The win ensures Cobar now progresses to the semi finals of the competition.—contributed
