Commonwealth Bank Cobar branch employees have donated $500 to the Cobar  VIEW Club as part of a nationwide community donation program.

Commonwealth Bank Cobar Branch Manager Rishae McGregor said the Cobar branch staff, like all Commonwealth Bank staff, are committed to driving positive change within their communities to help make a difference locally and for all Australians.

“Commonwealth Bank has again pledged to donate $500,000 nationally over the next few months, to recognise organisations that make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.

“Each Commonwealth Bank branch and customer-facing team has been allocated $500 to donate to causes important to their local community,” Ms McGregor said.

Commonwealth Bank’s Cobar branch team voted to support the great work of the Cobar Day VIEW Club.

“After a challenging start to the year with devastating bushfires and now the coronavirus pandemic, it’s timely to give back to local organisations who do good work in our community.

“We are pleased to support Cobar VIEW Club, in particular, their Learning for Life program, so it’s great to be able to support them in this great work.”

The Cobar VIEW Club has for a number of years raised funds for the Smith Family’s Learning for Life program which recognises that disadvantaged children need extra support to stay at school and go on to further studies or a job.

Learning for Life helps create better futures for children in need by providing financial assistance from a sponsor to help disadvantaged families afford the cost of their child’s education.

Through the program children also receive support from a Learning for Life Program Coordinator to connect the child and their family to local learning opportunities and other supports.

They will also have access to Smith Family educational programs to help them get the most out of their school years.
