Cobar’s Bands in the Bush, a free event which offers seven hours of live music, is shaping up to be a big event.
Event organiser, Cobar Shire Council’s Tourism Manager Demi Smith said 300 tickets have already been booked for the music event to be held at Ailsa Fitzsimmons Memorial Oval on September 23.
Headline acts include Doug Bruce & the Tailgaters, Jayne Denham and Duncan Toombs along with local artists Ballz n All, Kahlia Martin and Charged Up.
Doug Bruce and the Tailgaters have performed at all the major country music festivals and events in Australia including CMC Rocks, Gympie Music Muster, Deni Ute Muster, and Tamworth Country Music Festival among others.
Doug, a two-time Golden Guitar male Artist of the Year and Album of the Year finalist, and singer-songwriter has been described as an authentic and passionate country music performer.
He moved to Australia 17 years ago and has been back to tour his home state of Texas in America several times, taking his band with him.
Doug has been described as “Two shots of Travis with a Haggard chaser,” (Music Connection, UK).
Five-time Golden Guitar nominee Jayne Denham is one of Australia’s most admired and sought-after country rock performers.
Jayne has been performing as a featured artist at all of the major Australian country music festivals including CMC Rocks, Deni Ute Muster, Gympie Music Muster, and the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Jayne has released five albums and her next album ‘Moonshine’ is set for release later this year.
Duncan Toombs performed in Cobar earlier this year playing as part of Beccy Cole and Adam Harvey’s concert band at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club. He wowed the crowd when he was given the spotlight to sing a couple of his own songs.
For more than two decades Duncan has been playing guitar behind Australia’s biggest country artists. He’s also played with Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Brand, Lee Kernaghan and Gina Jeffreys.
Over the past 12 months Duncan has emerged from playing in the shadows to the spotlights of centre stage releasing his very own collection of songs on his Debut Album, ‘Steel On Steel’.
