The Cobar Police crew have beaten the local Firies in their MOvember challenge to raise funds and awareness of men’s health. As of Monday, the boys (and girls) in blue (Zara Ghattas, Lucas Hardy, Tony Martin, Dwayne de Vries, Greg McKervey, Chris Power and Amy Goddard) had raised $1,065 for the cause while the Firies weighed in with donations totalling $900. Senior Constable Dwayne de Vries, who sent out the challenge to his fellow officers and also to the Firies, said they had received great support from the Cobar community and he was keen to throw out the challenge again next year. He already has plans to expand the 2021 MOvember Challenge to include sporting events and barbecue cook-offs.
