Three members of the Cobar Branch of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) have won their way through to State level in the CWA’s The Land Cookery and Handicraft competitions.
The Cobar branch hosted members from around the region for the CWA Far West Group meeting on Saturday with the regional judging of both competitions also taking part.
Cobar welcomed CWA branch members from Trangie, Narromine, Bourke, Nyngan, Engonnia, Warren and Brewarrina for the Group’s first meeting of the year.
A range of wonderful entries for this year’s The Land Cookery Competition and the Handicraft competition filled the Services Club venue.
The winners from each branch were judged overall with Cobar’s Rebecca Howard win-ning the Chocolate Cake section in The Land Cookery Competition.
In the Handicraft competition, Colleen Bou-cher with her machine made blouse entry and Kay Corbett with her ribbon embroidery wall hanging and thread embroidery cushion cov-er, were selected as group winners.
The entries will now go on to compete at State level at the CWA’s Centenary Annual General Meeting of NSW to be held at Royal Randwick in May.
