Cobar cricket’s best of the 40 Overs and Twenty/20 seasons

JJosh Brown picked up a number of awards at the Cobar Cricket presentation night on Saturday including being named the
Twenty/20 Player of the Grand Final and Player of the Year. 

The Cobar & District Senior Cricket Club held their end of season awards night on Saturday at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club at the culmination of the 2019/2020 40 Overs and Twenty/20 seasons.

Nymagee finished as the 2019/2020 40 Overs competition premiers and also minor premiers.

Although grand final losers, Empire won the  Bert Oldfield Challenge Cup and their player Jay Egan collected the Paula Potter Cup as the best and Fairest for the season.

Nymagee’s Travis Buckman was the Player of the 40 Overs Grand Final.

Nymagee’s Phil Harley took the Most Wickets this season and Empire’s Dean King was the Best Fielder.

The All-rounder of the Year was Ahmed Pulock (Golf Club) who was also the Representative Player of the Year and he scored the 40 Overs competition most runs. Pulock, along with Tadgh Waugh (Empire) and Josh Brown (Golf Club) recorded their First Hundred in Cobar Cricket this season.

The Club Person of the Year was Jake Harbison (Empire) and the Gentleman of Cricket title went to Josh Brown (Golf Club).

The Daddles (Most Ducks) award went to  Alec Fraser (Golf Club).

Joining the bowlers ‘5-for Club’ were Robert Childs (Golf Club), Adam Buckman (Golf Club), Anthony Polack (Nymagee) and Phil Harley (Nymagee).

The Under 24 player of the Year was Tom McKenna (Empire / CSA); the Under 18 Player of the Year was Ryan Urquhart (Empire/Wyatt’s Whackers); Matt Bolam (Nymagee) was named U18 with the most potential; and Adam Buckman (Golf Club) Most Improved.

Bushies were the Twenty/20 competition Premiers and Minor Premiers.

Tilpa’s Josh Brown was named the Player of the Grand Final and was also the Twenty/20 Player of the Year.

Adam Buckman (Golfie) was also recognised for recording a hat trick in the Twenty/20 competition.
