Cobar beaten in a commanding performance

Dubbo produced a commanding performance in both batting and bowling to defeat Cobar by 152 runs in a high-scoring one day match in the Brewery Shield compeition in Dubbo on Sunday.

After winning the toss, Dubbo posted an imposing total of 8/313 on a pitch that offered next to nothing for the bowlers.

Cobar started well having Dubbo at 2/33 however the third wicket partnership between Lachlan George (96) and Rajat Rai (69) put Dubbo in the box seat.

Their partnership was the highlight of Dubbo’s innings.

Tristan Everett, with 4/65 from 10 overs, was the pick of the Cobar bowlers on a day where all bowlers struggled to find consistency.

Chasing 314, Cobar’s response was hampered early by a series of wickets (Jake Harbison went for 17, Naduka Gunawardana 19  and Jay Egan 39) after what had been a promising start.

At 3/66, Cobar still had hope with Aravinth Naguleswarampillai (42) who tried to rebuild the innings.

However, when he was dismissed, the innings quickly unraveled.

Cobar was bowled out for 161 in 41.3 overs, handing Dubbo a dominant win.—contributed
