Close junior soccer matches played

Cobar Junior Soccer Club Mids game on Saturday morning at Ward Oval. The game was a close match with Liverpool just finishing with a 2-1 win. Henry netted both goals for his Liverpool side to help steer them to a win.

A close 2-1 match was played out in the Cobar Junior Soccer Club Mids competition on Saturday morning with Liverpool just getting the better of Rangers to win.

Henry Geppert scored two goals for his Liverpool team while Ralph Behsman was responsible for Rangers’ goal.

In the other Mids game, the Rovers finished with a commanding 7-1 win over United.

Mark McBride and Joseph Theakston scored three times each for the Rovers while Josh McMillan booted in their other goal.

Tom Preisig was the lone goal scorer for his United team.

The Mids Gumnuts Milkshake awards were collected by Tilly Doll, Lenny Hill, Sophie Beer and Queena Jiang.

Dominic Mackay, Joseph Theakston, Xavier Foster and Edwin Palma took home the Cobar Hotbake Donut Awards.

The Seniors game was a goal fest with Rangers eventually beating Wanderers 6-5.

Jeremy Theakston led the scoring with three goals for his Rangers’ team with team mates  Caleb Theakston, Jacob Theakston and Jade Buckman also scoring one each for Rangers.

Wanderers’ goals were netted by Isaac Theakston (2), Maddie Bruce, Jayden Cryer and Braiden Jones.

The Seniors Milkshake Award winners were Isaac Theakston and Jeremy Theakston while Jayden Cryer and Mark Hibbert won the Donut prizes.

In the Mini’s competition, United won their match up against Rovers 5-2.

Max Preisig scored four goals for United and Harrison McBride was responsible for their other goal.

Sam McKervey found the back of the net twice to record two goals for his Rovers team.

In the other Mini’s game between Wanderers and Rangers, the match finished as a 1-all draw.

Nestor Linn scored the goal for Wanderers while Darcy Geppert netted Rangers’ goal.

The Mini’s Milkshake awards went to Mason Hill, Sam McKervey, Zinko Crawford and Mason Northfield.

Harrison McBride, Mia Fugar and Nestor Linn earned the Mini’s Donut Awards.
