Cobar High School held their Year 12 Presentation Ceremony last Wednesday where students were recognised for their achievements throughout the year.
Georgia Nicholson received a number of awards including the Outstanding Academic Achievement in English Standard, Business Studies, Geography and Community and Family Services, a Welfare and Discipline Principal’s Award and Award for Progress and Application in Mathematics General 2.
The Aurora Award was presented to Julieanna Barrett for Chemistry and James Martin, Graduation-Software Design and Development.
Academic awards were presented to students who came first in their subject areas including Jakob Brown (English Studies, Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation, Music 1); Julieanna Barrett (Mathematics, Physics); Alice Potter (Hospitality, Mathematics General 2); Brandy Shephard (Work Studies, Metal & Engineering); Emma Bradley (Personal Development, Health & Physical Education); Holly Cohen (Mathematics General 1); Brooke Daly (Industrial Technology Timber); Sarah Halford (Ancient History); Hannah Kriz (Visual Arts); Summer Rose Stingemore (Biology) and Chyna Whittaker-Goodwin (Senior Science).
Leadership Challenge Awards were presented to Makaila Gordon, Alice Potter and Thomas Jones.
Makaila Gordon received Sporting Awards as the school’s 17+ Girls Swimming Age Champion as well as representing the school for swimming at Western region and State level.
Thomas Jones received Sporting Awards as the school’s 17+ Boys Swimming Age Champion and for also representing the school for swimming at State level.
Julieanna Barrett received the 17+ Girls Athletics and Cross Country Age Champion awards while Hannah Kriz was recognised for representing the school at Western region and State level in athletics.
Connor Caton and Rowan Martin each received an award for representing the school at Western region for chess.
