The Cobar 221 Army Cadet Unit held their end of year presentation and dining-in evening in at the Cobar Memorial Services Club on Saturday.
Cadet Corporal Jye Robinson was presented with the Cartner Family Award for the most outstanding senior cadet for the year; the Boucher Shield for the most outstanding senior cadet for the year; and the Attendance Award for a cadet with the highest attendance record this year.
Cadet Rowan Martin was awarded the Trained Solider Award for a cadet showing teamwork, courage, initiative and respect along with the Knawer’s Award for the hardest cadet to fill at meal times.
The Most Outstanding Cadet trophy at Annual Camp went to Cadet James Martin while the Greenie Award for leadership and mateship was awarded to Cadet Corporal Robert Patten.
The Encouragement Award for a cadet showing potential very early was awarded to Cadet Marly Jones and the Dress and Bearing Award for a cadet who is always neat and tidy went to Cadet Brandy Shephard.
The Navigation Award for a cadet who shows promise in navigational skills was presented to Cadet Bailey Cain and the Appreciation Award went to their Commanding Unit Officer, CUO Seth Negus.
Special certificates of appreciation were presented to Julianne Foster, Peter and Mara Cartner, Nalda Boucher, Danilla Cooney and Tony Ellison for their continuous support and sponsorship of the local cadet unit.
