Brightening up our streets

Local artist Seigrid Peters has recently painted two more electrical boxes in Linsley Street as part of Cobar Shire Council’s Town Beautification program. Sig’s unique artwork adds some colour to the streetscape with her depictions of rural life in Cobar.
Her latest works include the ‘Bird Box’ pictured above which features an emu, galahs and a magpie while on the opposite side of the street you’ll see an outback sunset, a verandah scene with an Akubra hat and boots, a kangaroo, a bearded dragon lizard and a Major Mitchell cockatoo. Council has plans to add more colour to the main street with work soon to commence on a mural on the Barton Street side wall of the National Australia Bank building.
