Bridging the gap

Cobar Public School students Shaughnessy Bliss, Clancy Harvey, Katie Nicholson and Zac Boland were brainstorming ideas on how to build a load bearing bridge at the Outback Science & Engineering Challenge at the youth centre yesterday. The Year 6 students were taking part in the ‘Discovery Day’ mini challenges for primary age students alongside high school students from eight schools in the western area. The annual challenge is organised by the University of Newcastle in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Cobar, Cobar Shire, Endeavor, Peak and CSA mines.
