A Par game last Wednesday kicked off what was a big week in the local women’s golfing calendar.
In Wednesday’s game Susan Goonrey came in square to take the title ahead of Fay Hardwick on -1.
Ann Dunn was 3rd with -3 followed by Geraldine Francisco (-4) and Sally Bannister (-6).
Francisco took the nearest the pin prize on the 8th hole while Di Greer won the 11th.
Good Friday’s Flag event was won by Sally Bannister with a 74 net score, and well ahead of the rest of the field.
Robynne Morton was runner-up with 80 net with Jannine Wilkin (81 net) and Geraldine Francisco (82 net).
Bannister was also the best with the short stick having 25 putts for the day.
A countback on Saturday saw Jannine Wilkin just pip Di McLeod for a win in the Stableford plus Scratch game after both finished the day on 36 points.
Fay Hardwick was next with 32 points and took out the Scratch event with a score of 22 points. Susan Goonrey scored 31 points.
Geraldine Francisco finished with 29 points and the nearest the pin prize on the 3rd hole.
Melissa Dunne was the other nearest the pin winner on the 15th hole.
A blue marker on the 13th fairway is a bit worse for wear (along with one lady golfer who is sporting a few stitches). An accidental ricochet off the marker hit her on the chin. A bit sore but otherwise fine, we hear she will definitely be back out on the course very soon.
An unbelievable +10 in the Par Mulligan game on Easter Sunday had Jannine Wilkin in the winner’s circle again with a couple of ‘mulligans’ left over.
Fay Hardwick was the closest in second spot with +3 while Robynne Morton had a score of +2.
Hardwick was nearest to the pin on the 7th hole and Sally Bannister took the pin prize on the 11th.
The long weekend wrapped up on Monday with another Par game which was decided after a three-way countback.
Sally Bannister, Chrissy Gilligan and Wan Sipatsa all had an even card. Daphne Cross and Ann Dunn were next best and they too needed a countback after both ended the day with -1. The nearest the pins prizes on the 8th and 11th holes went to Ann Dunn and Chrissy Gilligan.
This weekend starts off with a stroke game on Saturday, which will be graded, and on Sunday a Par game is scheduled.—T’d Off
