The Cobar Ladies Golf 27 hole Foursomes Championships were held on Sunday with 10 teams taking part.

Geraldine Francisco and Sally Bannister took out the 2025 Scratch title after they finished with a score of 133 off the stick.

A three-way countback was then needed to decide the Scratch runners-up after all came in with 146.

Marlene Wynd and Barb Barklimore eventually came out on top.

Susan Goonrey and Wen Zhang were the Nett competition winners with 108 1/2 while Robynne Morton and Jannine Wilkin were the runners-up on 111 1/2 nett.

(All will be recognised at the end of the year at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club’s sports presentation night.)

Nearest the Pin winners on the 8th hole were Susan Goonrey and Wen Zhang while on the 15th hole, Janet Place and Sue Phillips were the closest.

Susan Goonrey had a good win in Saturday’s Par round finishing with a +3 score.

Barb Barklimore and Ann Dunn had an even card while Glenda Peebles placed fourth with
-1.

Those closest to the flag on the 11th hole were Janet Place, Karen Warren and Daphne Cross.

There were not enough players for a competition game last Wednesday as most ladies decided the cold, windy weather was not to their liking and stayed indoors instead.

In the Queensland Outback Masters tournament, Cobar’s Karen Manns won the overall ‘Bilby’ division in Blackall on the weekend with 35 stableford points.

Julie Livingston was the Saturday back nine holes winner.

The weekend before in Augathella, another Cobar golfer, Gerard Livingston had 18 points for the nine holes to finish second in his division.

This week’s Ladies Golf competition at home starts with a Par round today.

The annual Bannister’s Day in the program book has been moved to next month with a normal Stableford taking its place on Saturday.

Relationships could be on the line come Sunday when the Mixed 27 hole Foursomes Championships will be contested.
