The Cobar Cowboys defeated Narromine by three wickets on the back of a great bowling and fielding performance in the Macquarie Valley Brewery Shield cricket competition played at Narromine on Sunday.
Cobar took all their chances taking nine catches in bowling Narromine out for 131 runs in the 33rd over.
Mark Fraser was the best of the Cobar bowlers taking 3/22 off 10 overs.
Jake Harbison and Fred McClure took two wickets each and Alex Fraser took three catches for the Cowboys.
In reply, Cobar passed the required total in the 34th over with three wickets in hand.
After the early dismissals of Jade Buckman (1) and Mitchell Holt (0), Josh Brown and Jake Harbison then combined to take Cobar along to 90 before Harbison fell for 48 runs.
Brown followed suit 12 runs later for 32.
Needing eight runs to win, Cobar then lost three wickets, before the experienced Stephen Nicholson came to the crease and brought the team home finishing with 23 not out.—contributed
