The Cobar Roosterettes team scored another impressive win at home on Saturday beating the visiting Gulgong side 20-6 in Round 9 of the Castlereagh Ladies League Tag competition.
Cobar’s captain/coach Kayla Hasson was “stoked with the win”.
“Coming from a coach’s point of view, we are doing the right things at training and that’s working for us on the field,” Hasson said.
“The girls are supporting each other well and throwing the ball around a lot more, especially out to our edges.
“Our discipline and fitness is getting better and better week on week.”
The team’s defence has also improved with the Roosterettes managing to keep the Gulgong visitors scoreless until the late stages of the game.
Both Molly Carter and Neve Carter had high work rates in defence in Saturday’s match.
Cobar looked good in attack with the Gulgong defence being regularly upset by line breaks from Brianna Watson, Sarah Morley, Bridgette Negfeldt, Phoebe Pursehouse, Sophie Clark and Hannah Carroll.
Watson slipped through on two occasions to score with Morley and Carroll also touching down for a try each for Cobar.
Watson added another four points to their tally with two successful conversions.
This Saturday Cobar will take on Coonamble at Tom Knight Memorial Oval with the Roosterettes expected to take the points.
