Some high scoring games were played out in the Cobar Junior Soccer Club competition on Saturday, with a total of 42 goals scored over the three divisions.
In the Mini’s competition, 18 goals were netted from their three games.
Sky Strikers won their action-packed match
9-2 over Pitch Pirates.
Sky Strikers’ goals were scored by Nestor Linn (5), Zane Ntamuhanga (3) and Charlotte Cowan while both of Pitch Pirates goals were netted by Pearl Toomey.
The match between Orange Rovers and Purple Wanderers finished in a 3-all draw with Basil Peters, Cooper Colling and Hunter Compton kicking a goal each for Orange Rovers.
Purple Wanderers’ goals were booted in by Archie Myer-Ryan, Avah Flack-Hogan and Niklaus Flack-Hogan.
Cornish Dragons defeated Raging Rhinos
1-nil in their game with Jessie Roulston responsible for Cornish Dragons’ lone goal.
In the Mids division games, Redbacks had a
6-2 win over Bengal Tigers.
Edwin Palma booted in five goals for his Redbacks team with Joseph Theakston adding their other.
Bengal Tigers’ two goals came from the boot of Max Preisig.
Polar Bears finished with a 5-1 win over Black Knights in their match.
Three of Polar Bears’ goals were scored by Henry Geppert and Josh McMillan netted the other two.
Tom Preisig was the lone goal scorer for his Black Knights team.
In the other Mids game, Maroon Rangers beat The Sharks 2-1 with Maroon Rangers’ goals scored by Alfie Toomey and Ashlee Compton while Judd Josephson kicked a goal for The Sharks.
In the Seniors competition, Rock Apes scored a 5-2 win over Mill Rats.
Rock Apes’ points came from Ben Bray (3), Isaac Theakston (1) and Jeremiah McMillan (1) while Caleb Theakston and Joseph Theakston booted one goal each for Mill Rats.
