An Australian flag was last week presented to the Lilliane Brady Village. Resident Norman Bargwanna (who is an ex-serviceman who served in the Australian Army in the transport division in New Guinea during WWII) along with staff members Maree Wheeler and Sharon Huon were pleased to take delivery of the flag from RSL Sub Branch Cobar vice president Chris Boucher. The flag comes courtesy of the crew of the HMAS Rankin submarine following their visit to the village on Anzac Day this year. Mrs Huon said the flag will be brought out and flown every Anzac Day in place of their current Australian flag.
