The Cobar Junior Rugby League Club’s end of season presentations were held on Sunday afternoon at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club with a good crowd in attendance.
Club president Simone Knight said it had been another big, eventful season for junior rugby league in Cobar.
She said with more than 100 player registrations this season, it was good for the club to be able to field an Under 13s representative team this year in the Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League competition in addition to the Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s teams.
Mrs Knight also acknowledged the contributions a number of Bourke players made to the Cobar club this year.
Participation awards were handed out to all the Under 6s, Under 8s, Under 10s and Under 12s players.
Most Improved, Sportsmanship, Encouragement, Best & Fairest and Coaches awards were handed out for each grade.
In the senior grades the Best Forwards were: U/12—Klay Roche, U/14—Luke Purton and U/16—Patrick Hallcroft; and the Best Back awards went to: U/12—Tommy Rogers, U/14—Braith Good and U/16—Josh Burley.
The Players’ Player awards for the season were collected by: U/6—Kai McCosker, U/8—Jedd Budd, U/10—Dustin Crotty, U/12—Hannah Carroll, U/14—Luke Purton and U/16—Michael Manns.
The 2015 perpetual trophies went to: Tyron Purcell Junior Clubman of the Year—Kai Taylor; Ted Brown Senior Clubman of the Year—Wyatt Proudlove; Tom Good Player with the Most Heart—Michael Manns; Shad Fisher Club Best and Fairest—Zane Taylor; Henry Knight Sportsmanship Juniors—Tristan Bliss; and Joey Lloyd Sportsmanship Seniors—Marty Turton.
The Club Volunteer Award was shared by Katie Coveney and Jamie Roche.
Presentations were also made to coaches, team managers, canteen workers, committee members and others who volunteered their help over the past season.
