Telling our mining story

A new interactive underground mining experience is soon to be unveiled at the Great Cobar Museum. As part of the museum’s Stage 2 upgrade works funded by the NSW Government, Cobar Shire Council and a $100,000 donation by MAC Copper, what it’s like mining in Cobar is explained on the BIG screen with local mine staff playing the leading roles. The Cobar Weekly staff, along with mine staff and members of
Cobar’s Tourism Advisory Committee, were invited to a sneak peek of the soon-to-be opened visual experience and a look through the new coach house. Both will be
officially unveiled to the public next month.
